Ingredients
For the cookies
- 1½ cups unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the royal icing
- 4 egg whites
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract (you can substitute any clear extract)
